Michael was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada & raised in a preachers home. During his formative years he experienced many aspects of ministry & has been involved in various capacities of youth ministry since the year 2000.
Naomi's involvement & love of music began as a young child growing up in a very musical family. Born in Hartland, N.B., at first sight of his baby daughter's long fingers, her father declared to the nurses, "She's going to play the piano!" Naomi toured in full time music ministry with her family from 14 years of age until the age of 25. Naomi played keyboard & sang back-up vocals for four of her family's recording projects. She also recorded two instrumental worship projects. She has had the opportunity to minister in hundreds of churches across Canada & the USA. She has led praise & worship for conferences & taught training sessions at worship seminars. During this time, she was also involved with training teams of youth in drama, dance & music in a youth outreach program called Youth Invasion. She has written many songs & has co-written songs with her sister, Stephanie Israelson. In 2001 at the age of 26, Naomi went on staff as Worship/Youth Director at Lighthouse Christian Assembly for 5 years in Wasaga Beach, Ontario.
In 2004, Michael & Naomi were introduced to one another by mutual friends at a youth conference. They courted for 16 months & were then married in October 2005 in Wasaga Beach, Ontario. In August of 2006, sensing God's call upon their lives, they moved from Wasaga Beach to Burlington, Ontario where Naomi served on staff as Worship Director at the Lifehouse & Cambridge Foursquare Churches. In 2008, continuing the delightful pursuit of God's call on their lives, led them to Brampton Christian Family Church in Brampton, Ontario. They both served on staff as full time youth & worship pastors for 4 years. Michael & Naomi have led teams of students on mission’s trips to Mexico with Global Expeditions, a ministry division of Teen Mania. They have also been to the Dominican Republic & Trinidad with ministry organizations, leading church worship seminars & work projects as well as participating in community outreaches bringing the love of Christ & hope to many people.
In 2011, Michael & Naomi were blessed with their most precious gift, the birth of their miracle baby, Hannah Grace.
In 2012, they were led by God to launch Hearts of Motion, a travelling worship & word ministry. They have been honoured to come alongside pastors and congregations in worship services and conferences to lead worship, share in word and help equip worship teams through teaching and training.
In the fall of 2014 they moved to Fredericton, NB. where Michael & Naomi served in leadership at Cornerstone Worship Centre. They also served in worship leadership at the 24-7 Worship & Prayer Barn in Rusagonis, where they had the phenomenal opportunity to be in an atmosphere of continual worship, helping to facilitate the ever-increasing presence of God!
From 2017-2019 Michael hosted both a morning show called The Joyride with MJ and a afternoon show called The Drive with MJ for Joy Fm 96.5 in Fredericton.
Continuing to base out of Fredericton, Naomi has been filling in as an intern worship leader for Cornerstone Worship Centre and they both are currently ministering in worship and word through their Hearts of Motion ministry as God continues to open doors for them!
Michael & Naomi are passionate worship leaders/songwriters/communicators with an anointing to lead people into the tangible presence of God in a very sincere and heartfelt way. Part of their passion is also in teaching and equipping others to awaken to an awareness of God's presence in their everyday lives and to remind them that everywhere they go, they carry the power and presence of God with them to bring His love to the world!
Naomi is best known for her huge smile & warm, gentle spirit. While Michael is best known for being a good listener and sharing a genuine interest in people. They most enjoy spending time with their daughter, Hannah, and in their spare time, they enjoy coffee breaks & times with family & friends.
